Gujiya Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup maida
  • 1½ tablespoon ghee
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup khoya/mawa
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoon chopped dry fruits
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • A pinch of nutmeg powder
  • Kardai oil for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix flour, salt, and ghee. Add water to make a stiff dough. Rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Crumble khoya, roast until reddish, then cool add sugar, dry fruits, and spices.
  3. Roll dough into discs, place filling, seal, and fry in kardai oil until golden.
  4. For baked gujiya, preheat oven, coat with ghee and honey, bake at 200°c for 18-20 mins.
